Jumper is designed from first principles to preserve full customer data sovereignty. All media analysis, indexing, and search operations are performed locally within the customer’s own environment. Jumper does not require cloud storage, external processing, or third-party data sharing to function.
At no point does Jumper take custody of customer media assets.
Data Location & Processing
- All media files remain on customer-controlled storage (local disks, NAS, or on-prem servers).
- Media analysis (speech recognition, face recognition, visual indexing) is executed entirely on the customer’s machine or local network.
- Jumper generates derived metadata only (indexes, embeddings, thumbnails), stored locally alongside the customer’s media cache.
- No raw footage or media content is transmitted outside the customer’s environment.
Network & Cloud Usage
- Jumper operates fully offline by default.
- No customer media, metadata, or analysis results are uploaded to Jumper-controlled servers.
- Internet connectivity is required only for:
- License activation and validation
- Updating the Jumper software
- Crash/error reporting that may contain media metadata (can be disabled)
Except for the crash/error reporting, these interactions do not involve customer media or project data.
Access Control & Ownership
- Customers retain full ownership and control of:
- Media files
- Generated indexes
- Cache data
- Jumper has no technical capability to access, view, or retrieve customer content.
- Data access is governed solely by the customer’s internal operating system, filesystem, and network permissions.
Multi-User / Shared Environments
In shared or team configurations:
- Indexes and cache files remain on customer-managed infrastructure.
- Jumper does not introduce additional user access beyond what is already permitted by the customer’s storage and network setup.
- Access control and segregation are enforced by the customer’s existing IT and security policies.
Data Retention & Deletion
- Jumper does not retain customer data.
- Deleting media or cache files from the customer’s system permanently removes them from Jumper.
- Uninstalling Jumper leaves no customer data behind, aside from locally stored caches explicitly created by the customer.
