Access Jumper from Avid

You’ll find Jumper in the Tools menubar item. In newer versions of Avid Media Composer (2025.12 and later), you can find it in the Extensions menubar item.avid-04.pngIf for some reason you don’t see Jumper in the Tools or Extensions list, please try restarting your computer before contacting support, as this has fixed the issue for some users (we’re not sure why, and are actively discussing with the Avid team). When you click on Jumper it will launch the Jumper for Avid Media Composer panel.avid-05.png
7

Understand the Media Panel

The only real difference between Jumper for Avid Media Composer and Jumper for DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro is the Media Panel. In Jumper for Avid Media Composer, you populate the Media table using the Scan MXF Metadata button and the Load Media dropdown (next to the filename filter in the Media tab). See Adding media for the full workflow.avid-06.png

Panel won’t open

Jumper is not showing up in the Tools or Extensions menu

We’re not really sure what causes this issue but several users have found rebooting the computer will solve it.

Match Source/Record Viewer Frame

To enable this functionality you need to create a new Export Preset in Avid Media Composer called Jumper. In the current version of Jumper, it will automatically create this Export Preset. avid-export-preset-01.png avid-export-preset-02.png
